If you came to the About page you’re looking for my hook. I don’t have one. I’m perfectly ordinary, chances are you are too. What I do for money does not define me, nor does my family, my place of origin, my heritage or my gender. I have no brand and I don’t really want one. In a generation drowning in their quest for originality I am utterly aware that is what I lack.
What I will say is in this blog I will endeavor to be honest. I will endeavor to demystify the parts of my experience that are less common. As a PhD student in Neuroscience I have a little perspective on a world many do not experience, but for those of you who share my occupation I hope to validate some of your feelings. I will try to be fair. I will try not to rant. I will try to be objective.
While I continue to define what exactly it is that I’m doing here I hope you stick around for the ride. I cannot provide great wisdom, but I want to start a discussion. I want your help to figure out how we can each take better care of ourselves. How can we be selfish enough to remain peaceful and compassionate without tipping into narcissist territory? What are the crucial elements to a truly mindful life?
Let’s find out, together.
